Igor Pylyay
Studio Director • Professional Dancer • Coach • Choreographer
Ihor Pylyay is an accomplished professional ballroom dancer, coach, choreographer, and Studio Director with more than 30 years of experience in DanceSport.
Ihor began dancing in 1992 in Poltava, Ukraine, and quickly established himself as a top competitor in International Ballroom and Latin. He became a Ukrainian National Champion in 1999 and was awarded the prestigious title of Master of Sport of Ukraine in 2004. He also represented Ukraine in international DanceSport competitions and studied ballroom choreography and pedagogy.
After moving to the United States, Ihor continued his career as a professional dancer and coach. His students have achieved championship-level success, including a 9-Dance Championship title at the United States Dance Championships in 2021.
Ihor also participated as a professional dancer in Dancing with the Carolina Stars in 2021 and 2022, sharing his passion for ballroom dancing through performance and community events.
Today, Ihor serves as Studio Director and Training Instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studios Herndon/Reston, working with dancers from beginners to competitive performers.
His teaching philosophy combines technique, musicality, confidence, and individuality, helping every student become a better dancer while enjoying the journey.
